Exchange Program for German and Israeli Professionals on Religiously Motivated Extremism

Participants

20 young professionals from advice centers, security services, youth welfare, municipalities, and educational establishments.

Project Content
The project entails bringing together young professionals from different fields who come into contact with people who have been radicalized so that they can exchange ideas about what is behind ideological violence, preventative methods, and direct interventions. The question here is how internationally effective strategies can be developed to stem religiously-motivated radicalization against “the other”.

Project Working Methods
The advice center in Hamburg and the Israeli educational center each give 10 staff members from both countries the opportunity to compare their experiences and to find new solutions in so doing. Combined with their intercultural and interreligious skills, the participants’ broad spectrum of perspectives and wide range of professional fields form the basis for an intensive collaboration, the main focus of which is each delegation’s visit to the other country.

Project Goals
The aim of the project is to develop tried and tested methods of civil society prevention by way of an exchange of experiences between different projects and security authorities and to create long-lasting networks for further cooperation in the future.
