About us
About us

We support. The Future Forum has been supporting innovative, unusual and socially relevant German-Israeli cooperation projects for over ten years. In addition, we support project development meetings as part of our Future Lab format in order to get new collaborations off the ground. All of our projects are based on the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

We network. We bring together young professionals and social organizations from Israel and Germany who are committed to strengthening democracy and civil society in both countries. Every year, our network initiates activities and programs that provide opportunities to get to know each other, develop ideas, collaborate, support others and be supported.

We get involved. Young voices from Germany and Israel are often neglected in current public debates on domestic and foreign policy issues. As part of our Sylke Tempel Fellowship, we award research grants to young people every year. The results are discussed publicly and published in various publication formats.

We show our face. In cooperation with the Federal Foreign Office, we award the annual Shimon Peres Prize, sponsored by the Federal Foreign Office, to young people who stand up for our societies. Our jury honors initiatives that stand up for our shared values in the German-Israeli context. With this prize, we are setting an example and emphasizing the importance of the young generation in the German-Israeli dialogue.

We are joining forces. We believe in cooperation to strengthen and shape our societies and democracies. That is why we are joining forces with other organizations and initiatives, carrying out joint projects and events, exchanging ideas, learning from each other and organizing public events that reach as many people as possible.

On December 6, 2007, the German-Israeli Future Forum was established as a foundation with legal capacity under German Civil Law by the Federal Republic of Germany and the State of Israel. The Foundation began its work in February of 2009. The idea was developed in 2005 by the German Federal President and the Israeli President during celebrations marking the 40th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between both countries.
