On the eve of the first anniversary of the Hamas attack on Israel, Tamara Or moderated the presentation of the new Jewish Almanac, published by the Leo Baeck Institute Jerusalem and the Jewish Publishing House that is part of Suhrkamp Verlag. In a conversation with Gisela Dachs, editor of the almanac, and Israeli writer Assaf Uni, they discussed the development of public perception of October 7 in Israel and Germany, the lack of lived empathy, and the role of art and literature in dealing with trauma.
