As part of the opening of the photo exhibition "MEMORIES", initiated by the Freundeskreis Willy-Brandt-Haus e.V., featuring portraits of Holocaust survivors, Tamara Or, Director of the German-Israeli Future Forum, and the curator and photo artist Olaf Scholte discussed the future of remembrance culture at the Willy-Brandt-Haus in Berlin, on January 23, 2025.

The conversation focused on questions such as how remembrance can be successfully practiced today, what responsibilities arise from it for societal coexistence, and how especially young people can be made more aware of its historical context. The discussion also touched on new forms of commemoration, personal approaches to history, the role of education, exchange, and intercultural dialogue in an evolving culture of remembrance.
