On January 8, 2025, the Chairwoman of our Board of Trustees, Brigitte Zypries, was awarded the Honorary Medal of the President of the State of Israel by the Israeli President Isaac Herzog. Alongside former Chancellor Angela Merkel, Brigitte Zypries is now the second German citizen to receive this highest civilian honor bestowed by the State of Israel. President Herzog recognized Brigitte Zypries’ outstanding commitment to German-Israeli relations with the words:
“Brigitte Zypries has built a partnership of integrity and hope between Germany and Israel, linking a painful past with a hopeful future.”
This distinction is a testament to Brigitte Zypries’ longstanding efforts to strengthen trust and cooperation between Germany and Israel and reflects the values that guide the work of the German-Israeli Future Forum
