Online Form for Project Funding

Please note:
From 1.10. - 30.11.2022, only inquiries within the framework of our thematic call for proposals on work-life balance/future of work are possible. More information can be found here.

We employ a multi-stage procedure for project funding applications: Filling in the online inquiry form is the first step. If your project meets our funding criteria and attracts our interest, we will invite you to submit a funding application in the second stage of the procedure.

There is a third stage in the procedure that is only of relevance for projects with budgets of 30,000 euros or more.

Please bear in mind that the grants are not announced until at least 4–5 months after the submission deadline, due to the time required for our review processes.

Stage 1: Inquiry
We accept only inquiries submitted using our online form.
Please submit your funding inquiry via the online form, completely filled in, within one of the periods specified below.

When to submit your inquiry
We accept funding inquiries for three application cycles each year, but only during the two-month period at the start of each cycle. The online inquiry form cannot be filled in or submitted at any other time.

January 1 – February 28/29
You will hear back from us by March 31 as to whether we are requesting a detailed funding application.

April 1 – May 31
You will hear back from us by June 30 as to whether we are requesting a detailed funding application.

October 1 – November 30
You will hear back from us by December 31 as to whether we are requesting a detailed funding application.

Step 2: Application

If the project you describe on the inquiry form, meets our funding criteria, we will invite you to submit a detailed funding application and provide you with the requisite form. You will have 4–6 weeks to submit the application.

A decision will be taken on your application about 4–6 weeks after submission.

Please bear the processing times stated above in mind when planning your project.

Stage 3: Project presentation (only for grants of 30,000 euros or more)

In the case of project funding in the amount of 30,000 euros or more, applications must be presented in person to the Board of Trustees by the persons responsible for the project. There are two opportunities to give such presentations each year – one in May/June and one in November/December.

In order to be eligible for an invitation to the May/June meeting of the Board of Trustees, you must submit your online inquiry in October/ November of the year before.

In order to be eligible for an invitation to the November/December meeting of the Board of Trustees, you must submit your online inquiry in April/ May.

If you are invited to submit a detailed funding application (see stage 2), a decision as to whether you will be invited to a meeting of the Board of Trustees will be taken within 4–6 weeks of receipt of your application.

Please bear the processing times stated above in mind when planning your project.

Funding amounts

We do not specify a total funding amount in advance. The proposal budget must reflect project content. Costs for events and carrying out the bilateral project are eligible for funding. This includes non-personnel costs, such as travel and transport costs, expenditures for food and lodging of participants, fees for services, organisational expenses or expenses for materials/equipment.
